Welcome!

Well, there ya go.  Making another blog.  While my "other" blog is about going out and about on museum treks with the tiny human...ahem, Museum + Momma, check it out...this blog is dedicated to receiving, sending, and, mostly, MAKING, snail mail.  Yes, that's right, snail mail.  You know, that hard copy, usually made out of some type of fibrous substance, thing you put a good, old-fashioned stamp on?  Yes, that.  Snail mail.

I love paper.  I love making paper into snail mail.  I love putting stamps on snail mail and sending it to the people I love.  Love, love, love.  Oddly enough, this is sort of a "new" adventure for me, although in hindsight, I guess I should have recognized the signs.  I started collecting stamps (briefly) in preschool, my momma always made me send thank you notes in a timely manner - and then it became a lifelong habit, I have a deep routed appreciation for fine art and craft, I get ridiculously giddy when I encounter pretty paper, and I spend HOURS (yes, HOURS) of my life in paper and stationery stores or online looking at pretty paper.  I could be doing laundry or vacuuming...but I'm not.

One day, not so long ago, a friend of mine taught me how to make my own envelopes.  And, as they say (whoever "they" are), the rest is history.  And my mother, mothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, girlfriends, and even acquaintances have since become the recipients of notes, letters, and even full-on, hand-made stationery sets.  All. Made. By. Me.  I'm feeling quite productive these days.

So, I thought to myself, "Self, why don't you start another blog?  Share the love."  And, voila!  Snail Mail Momma!  I'll post pictures of things I've already done, things I'm working on, things you can, ahem, potentially buy or commission, and things that I find in my adventures to procure the prettiest and most special papers.

Send me your thoughts and ideas...and let me know if there is something I can make and send to you, so that you can receive too.

Cheers!

Here's an example of handmade photo corners.  An idea for next year's Christmas cards, baby announcements, hilarious old photos for a milestone birthday?
